Hi Deb, Chaz had his shot today and he did pretty well. He was scarred at first hiding under my chair before the vet came in but I think that's normal with a lot of dogs as my mom's dog does the same thing. He was really good for the vet though but he yelped/whined just at first when the shot went in then he was fine they gave him a treat afterwards. They had me bring in a stool sample to test for heartworm and said everything about him is normal so that's great! They gave me a free sample of heartgard plus and Frontline so I put that on him today and need to buy more for him for the upcoming months. My mom uses a website to get her dog's frontline and heartgard meds online because she said it's cheaper than buying from the vet. Do you use any websites for those? I just want to make sure I find a reliable website if I go that route. I have a ton of pictures up of Chaz on facebook you will have to look at them :) He's still doing really well. I'm going to obedience classes with him in the park and it's just for my own good since I've never had a puppy before that way I can learn too and continue to work with him. I think it will take quite awhile for him to get everything down because he gets distracted very easily especially outside his attention span isn't very long most of the time if I'm trying to work with him. He still loves to chew one everything he can outside from sticks to those little green helicopter seed/plant things and I have to constantly take things out of his mouth because I don't want him to swallow something like that and it also makes me nervous because the lawn gets treatment with sprays or chemicals and I'm so afraid it will make him sick if he continues to keep digging at everything and putting everything in his mouth so I keep telling him no and taking things out of his mouth. I'm not too worried about the sticks because he usually just carries them but sometime he will want to stop and chew on them. Other than that he's doing pretty good. He gets hyper spells at random times it seems and wants to run all over! I think I may be letting him sleep too much during the day because he wants to stay up at night and play (not past midnight though) but I thought puppies need a lot of sleep too. He's doing really well at night I let him sleep with me except the very first night I didn't and he was fine but he's been sleeping all night hasn't gotten up once during the night. I take him upstairs with me in the morning when I shower because we have 3 floors in our house and I don't want him to be alone downstairs where I sleep. He tends to whine when he can't see me especially when I'm in the shower he hates that. I even bring some toys and treats up there and he will still whine so not really sure what to do about that he's usually fine once I get out of the shower it's just when I'm in there. He loves my brother he licks him like crazy until I pick him up off of him and he doesn't lick me like that at all. He doesn't always warm up to other people right away unless he sees them often like my parents he loves because he's been seeing them alot but with new people he just likes to sit on my lap like he's scared. But when he does that people say "Well he sure know's who his mom is, he's a momma's boy!" and things like that it's cute. He's a good jumper, loves to sniff all over, and loves to chew especially on his bones. He's still doing pretty good at potty training still only had a couple of accidents in the house but I think he's gradually learning when to tell me he needs to go because today he ran up the stairs to the door and just stood there looking at me and surely enough he had to go. I was so proud of him for that that was the first time he really told me on his own. I'm starting to know his signs though when he gets super hyper and sniffs all around and runs all over sniffing while he's doing it usually is a good sign he has to go! I start summer class next week so that should be interesting to see how he does while I'm gone I'm not looking forward to having to leave him in his kennel but I know it's a part of it :( My mom is going to watch him on her days off of work and my brother and dad can watch him on days it rains and they can't work because they have outside construction jobs. But days when he has to wait for me to get home I'm going to be sad to leave him Monday will be hard! My mom has taken me to the store a few times because I don't want to leave him at home alone so I go inside while she stays out in the car with him and she said he doesn't really whine for me if he does it's just once and then he's fine so that's good. One last thing a funny story is that my dad has never been a huge dog/animal lover but he just absolutely loves Chaz it's so cute! I think that's all for now Steph

Lily's New Home
Hello, You had said you wanted an email update when everything was settled. Her name is Lily due to our liking of the name and also it being easter weekend when we got her. she's finally settling into a routine and is quieting down at night. She's learning that its bed time and we'll be there again in the morning. She is also slowly learning its not good to pee in the house (slowly). But getting there. She's overall an absolute sweet heart and a great addition to our family. I had my dad ( a vet) check her over and everything turned out well. One thing was that her one du claw on her front right will need to be removed again when we spade her. Whoever you had do it missed it a bit and its growing in sideways now so we're keeping an eye on it. Nothing too big for us to handle though. ;) Thanks again for everything. Hope all is going well.
